Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park
Touch nature in a way that you never have before and experience
history in a way that brings it to the present. Immerse yourself
in nature trails, reconstructed historical buildings, interactive
exhibits, and a climbing wall that reaches the realms of your
imagination. It’s an 18th-century water powered sawmill
blade ripping through a log, creating the smell of sawdust
and the sounds of the past; it’s the tranquil sound of
Mill Creek water cutting through pristine forest; and it’s
the invigorating rush of adrenaline when feet leave solid ground
as you soar over that creek and through the forest on a zip
line built for all ages. (Admission charged to enter the park.)
Colonial Michilimackinac
This 1770’s-era fort and village has been reconstructed
in its exact historical location. But there’s more to this
village and fort than its 13 authentically reconstructed buildings
and 1 million treasured artifacts. Colonial Michilimackinac teems
with life! Talk with professional archeologists who continue
to excavate treasures as you watch. After all, this is your time,
and at Colonial Michilimackinac, living history is as easy as
stepping through the gate. (Admission charged to enter the fort.)
Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse
In its time, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, built in 1892, was
called a mansion and its setting on the majestic Straits of
Mackinac has inspired generations. Climb the tower and take
in the spectacular view as the lighthouse keepers did before
you. Step inside the lighthouse and hear the Victrola play
pre-World War I tunes in a period-styled sitting room. Interact
with hands-on exhibits. Ask questions. Immerse yourself. Inside
this stately structure, it’s always 1910, so welcome
and discover. (Admission charged to enter the lighthouse.)
Thunder Falls
Experience wild and wet adventures at Thunder
Falls Family Water Park, Mackinaw City’s newest and most
exciting addition. With fun for kids young and old, Thunder Falls
features twenty acres of thrills. Discover your favorite among
12 world-class slides or enjoy the leisurely pace of our Lazy
River. Cool off and relax in Michigan’s best wave pool
by riding the 4 foot waves, or enjoy the interactive children’s
play areas. Thunder Falls takes the edge off summer’s heat,
but won’t
freeze you out either! Water temperatures are comfortably heated.
The ultimate summer experience awaits at Thunder Falls Family
Water Park. See you on the slides!
