We’re thrilled to have a date and time set for the naming of our latest motor vessel.
Our chairman Bill Shepler, alongside children and partners Chris, Billy, and Patty, will unveil the name of our latest fleet addition on Tuesday, September 17 at 1pm. The announcement will be made on the Mackinaw City dock aboard our very first fast boat, The Welcome.
The public is welcome to attend as the announcement is open to everyone. Those wishing to attend may exit I-75 at #338 and park in our day parking lot on Nicolet Avenue. Complimentary shuttle/tram service between our dock and the lot will be available for everyone.
The name announcement comes as progress takes shape on our latest venture, a $4M jet powered 210-passenger ferry being built by the team at Moran Iron Works in Onaway. Drafted by SeaCraft Design in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, the motor vessel will feature 4 HamiltonJet HM461 series waterjets as propulsion and weigh in at 60 tons reaching an average cruising speed of 30MPH.
