Go beyond the ordinary with our Extended Eastbound Lighthouse Cruise—an experience designed for true lighthouse enthusiasts! Building on our popular eastbound route, this expanded journey takes you deeper into Lake Huron for rare and remarkable sights. After passing beneath the Mighty Mac and visiting Round Island Lighthouse and Round Island Passage Light, we’ll continue east past the privately owned Bois Blanc Lighthouse and venture farther to the elusive Spectacle Reef Light—one of the most remote and impressive lights on the Great Lakes, visible up close only by boat.
From there, the adventure continues to Poe Reef Light and Fourteen Foot Shoal Light before a scenic detour up the Cheboygan River, where you’ll spot the Cheboygan Crib Light and Cheboygan Front Range Light. Along the way, enjoy the sparkling blue waters of Lake Huron, an up-close view of the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Mackinaw, and fascinating stories of maritime history narrated by an expert from the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association. This extended cruise offers more time on the water, more incredible sights, and a deeper dive into the rich heritage of Great Lakes navigation—a rare opportunity you won’t want to miss!
All Lighthouse Cruises depart from and return to Mackinaw City. Cruise parking is located at 311 S. Nicolet St. for $15 per vehicle per day.
