Our Capt Shepler and Miss Margy are named after Shepler’s founder, William H. Shepler and his wife, Margaret.  The other motor vessels are named after well known ships sailing the Straits of Mackinac in the late 17th century.  In June of 2019, we began construction on our newest ferry which will launch in early 2020.  Follow the progress via our social channels using #SheplersNewRide or by signing up for our Ferry Tales newsletter below.
